1. The Lord grant that you may observe all these precepts in a spirit of charity as lovers of spiritual beauty, giving forth the good odor of Christ in the holiness of your lives. Not as slaves living under the law but as men living in freedom under grace, and slaves to The Immaculate Heart of Mary 2. And that you may see yourselves in this little book, as in a mirror, have it read to you once a week so as to neglect no point through forgetfulness. When you find that you are doing all that has been written, give thanks to the Lord, the Giver of every good. But when one of you finds that he has failed on any point, let him be sorry for the past, be on his guard for the future, praying that he will be forgiven his fault and not be led into temptation. 3. The Original Guardian-Angel shall hold his position for life, upon death, elections amongst all the professed brothers shall elect the Guardian-Angel on a 4years and 3 month cycle. He shall report to the Immaculate Heart Community council on a monthly basis or as directed by the council. 4. On Funding; the community shall endeavour to be as self-sufficient as possible and cheerfully accept gifts and stipends from the philanthropically minded to whom we give thanks and prayers. 4a. No monies shall be accepted from any government or government agency lest this cast a shadow of government control over this Community. Freely given gifts of goods from Governments are acceptable as long as there is no commitment given by MSIHM to the giver with the exception of prayers. 5. No changes to this rule can be made unless directed by the relevant Bishop and with 99% of the voting members and in consultation with the Immaculate Heart Community Governing council. If at stalemate the recourse to Rome is available Voting members shall be all who have been called to this place and have made a vow for at least three years. The Magdalen Servants of the Immaculate Heart of Mary (MSIHM) will be seeking Pontifical approval to be a Society responsible to it's own superior in due course as is the nature of the Holy Roman Catholic Church. |
